Who is g1?

g1 (greenfirst)® represents the David L. Lawrence Convention Center’s (DLCC) commitment to environmental sustainability.  Located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the DLCC was the first “green” convention center in the world and was awarded the Gold LEED® certification by the US Green Building Council. The DLCC was built green in 2003 and operates green today! To operate green: we recycle, we compost, we reduce toxic emissions, we reduce energy use, we operate a grey water reclamation plant, we use natural cool air, we grow vegetables & herbs, we use natural resources, we purchase green, we donate unwanted supplies, we think green first in everything we do!
