Exhibitor Green Practices
As an exhibitor, you play a key role in continuing our g1 practices. We are dedicated to green and look to you to join our g1 efforts while exhibiting here.
During Show Move-in:
- Use large blue recycle dumpsters on the exhibit floor for gathering cardboard, paper and plastic.
- Use a local printer for pamphlets, handouts and banners. Reducing transportation needs.
- Use environmentally-friendly products within your booth –
- Carpet padding made with 100% recycled synthetic fibers.
- Recycled booth carpet.
- Biodegradable and recycled material banners, or EcoFabric banners made with 100% cotton or 100% polyester.
- Signboards made of 100% recyclable materials printed with soy or vegetable oil based inks such as: BIOflex, Xanita X-Board, or Cloraplast. Avoid foam core.
- Avoid visqueen. If a protective covering is required within your booth, use a reusable type cover such as sheets or towels.
- Green-certified cleaning solutions.
- If touch-up paint is required, use low- or no-volatile organic compounds (VOC) in paints.
- Use table throws to cover your display tables.
During the Show:
- Use 2 wastebaskets in your booth. One can for trash and one can - paper, cans, and bottles.
- Use the large trash receptacles (trash, paper, cans/bottles) in g1 areas located on the show floor for large volumes of trash.
- Use recycled materials for giveaways. Ie: organic cotton tote bags and lanyards, soy ink pens.
- Work with our exclusive food service provider, Levy Restaurants, in catering locally grown food products for your booth.
- Reduce the number of printed brochure given away by offering to send virtual copies of your company’s literature to attendees.
- Use locally grown seasonal flowers for decorations instead of hot house-forced ones.
During Show Move-out:
- Use the large blue recycle dumpsters located in the exhibit hall to recycle unwanted product including wood pallets.
- Donate extra product to local charities or schools instead of shipping back materials. Contact the Show Event Manager for more details.
- Use starch-based, biodegradable packing peanuts for shipping. They dissolve in water, are non-toxic and can be composted.
- Use biodegradable cellulose available for shrink-wrapping. Avoid polystyrene, plastic wrapping and bubble wrap.
- Use biodegradable string (ie: cotton, sisal, jute). Avoid plastic.
