Administration Green Practices

At the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, not only do events operate green; but so does our office. We are dedicated to green! Our staff considers the environment every day in ordering and using office supplies. We:

  • Use wooden pens with refillable soy ink.
  • Use recycled motherboard clipboards with second life copier paper.
  • Use stapleless stapler for 5 or less papers.
  • Recycle batteries and light bulbs.
  • Use recycled newspaper pencils with handle sharpeners.
  • Mousepads made from discarded tires.
  • Aggressively recycle all office products and materials.
  • Monitor Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrous oxide (NO2) levels inside and out.
  • Purchase recyclable products and goods.
  • Purchase in bulk.
  • Use solar-powered calculators.
  • Consider all natural resources for daily operations.
  • Pre-set thermostats, light sensors, and controllable systems during normal business hours.
  • Use low- or no-volatile organic compounds (VOC) in paints, carpeting, adhesives and sealants.
  • Use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
  • Use of environmental friendly office supplies.
  • Use ceramic coffee mugs and glass water glasses.
  • Use biodegradable, compostable products including plates, flatware and paperware.
  • Use 100% biodegradable trash can liners.
  • Use 30% post consumer recycled copier paper.
  • Use 57% post consumer recycled hand towels.
  • Use 50% post consumer recycled toilet tissue.
  • Use vendors and suppliers who use eco-friendly practices.
  • Established a green committee with a representative from each department.
  • Distribute g1 buttons to attendees as a green reward!
